RentalMate Data Deletion Instructions 📝

We value your privacy and provide clear steps to manage your data. Below are the instructions to delete your data stored by RentalMate, both within the app and on Google Drive.

1. Deleting Google Account Data in the App

To remove the Google account data used for backups and contact preferences:

• Open the RentalMate app and navigate to the "Settings" section.
• Scroll to the bottom of the Settings menu.
• Tap "Delete Account."
• This will immediately delete:
  • The Google account email used for Google Drive backups.
  • The selected Google contact Gmail preference for saving automatic contacts.
  • Local backup metadata stored on your device.

2. Deleting Backup Data on Google Drive

RentalMate stores backup files in a folder named "BACKUP_RentalMate" on your Google Drive. To delete these files:

• Open the Google Drive app on your phone or visit drive.google.com in a web browser.
• Locate the folder named "BACKUP_RentalMate."
• Delete the "BACKUP_RentalMate" folder and all its contents.
• This will permanently remove all backup files created by RentalMate from your Google Drive.

3. Advertising Data

Manage Advertising ID in Android Settings > Google > Ads.

Important Notes

• Deleting your account in the app does not automatically delete the "BACKUP_RentalMate" folder on Google Drive. You must manually delete it as described above.
• Local data (email, contact preferences, and metadata) is deleted immediately upon selecting "Delete Account" and is not retained.
• Backup files on Google Drive remain until you manually delete them, with no additional retention period enforced by RentalMate.
